We initially sat down with our Teaching and Learning group and discussed in some detail, the school that they wanted and if they could change the way that they learn, how this would come about. The work fitted in nicely with some work that our network of schools here and in Australia are doing about the 5 R's of becoming independent and self directed learners.

The children then threw ideas onto a whitebaord about the way that they learn now and how they would like to see this change. The staff know we are doing this work and because we have a policy of openess and continual learning, the work is informing rather than threatening.

The work has been completed in powerpoint as this is the easiest way to display the messages which are the main purpose for the work.
